Lucas Heiby is a passionate and versatile drummer, educator, and creative entrepreneur based in Switzerland. With a Bachelor of Arts in Popmusikdesign from Popakademie Mannheim and over a decade of experience on and off the stage, Lucas has built a multifaceted career that bridges performance, education, and innovation.
As a dedicated drum educator and team-leader of the drum department, Lucas currently teaches around 30 students in Basel Münchenstein. His approach combines musical depth, rhythmic intuition, and a strong focus on creating a motivating and enjoyable learning environment. He empowers students of all levels to discover their own musical voice, balancing structure with creativity in every lesson.
On stage, Lucas has worn many hats—not only as a drummer but also as a musical director and tour manager, bringing projects to life with precision, energy, and vision. Whether in the studio or on tour around the world with Gold and Platinum artist Alice Merton, his work is grounded in the belief that rhythm is a universal language that connects people across genres and cultures.
Looking ahead, Lucas is developing an upcoming specialty coffee concept with his wife Mia—an inviting space where curated coffee, soulful music, and thoughtful design come together. Rooted in hospitality and cultural exchange, the project reflects their shared passion for creating meaningful, sensory experiences that bring people together in an atmosphere that feels both inspiring and deeply personal.
